Evernote Clipper
I use Evernote a lot for note-taking, keeping track of ideas, code snippets, conversations, and so on. One of the great added features on the Windows desktop is the Clipper functionality.
This is a great screen clipper- by pressing Win-Key
and Prnt-Scrn
together (on Windows 7, Windows 8 uses that “charm” itself) brings up a cross-hair that can be used to select an area of screen. By default this selection is dropped into Evernote, but by pressing Ctrl
when selecting it will be placed in the Windows clipboard ready for pasting into other applications. Pressing Shift
saves the clipping as a png image file on the desktop.
