Disabling Alt-Print Screen in Evernote with Skitch installed

If you’re using Evernote Skitch for Windows you will notice that the Alt-Print Screen key combination now opens up Skitch rather than copying a snapshot of the current window to the Clipboard. Whilst I’m a big fan of the Evernote/ Skitch combination and the clipping, I want to retain the Alt-Print Screen combo for Active window snapshotting. There’s currently no way to disable this in Evernote, but the following method works.

(Usual caveats about editing your registry apply).

First close Evernote. Then open your Registry Editor and navigate to

1HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Evernote\Evernote

Here you should find a value HotkeyCreateNewSkitchNote set to 12c. Edit this value, and set it to 0 (zero) to disable the hot-key combo.
