Deploy with Group Policy error

When deploying a printer by Group Policy using the Windows Server 2008 R2 “Print Management” application on a Windows Server 2003 Active Directory the following error may appear.

1Deploying printer connection '\\server\printer' to per machine GPO 'GPO_Name' failed. Please make sure that the schema on the Active Directory domain controller has been updated to support printer connection settings.

This can be resolved by updating the schema on the Active Directory. Log into the Active Directory GC server and put the Windows Server 2008 R2 disk in the drive. Then enter the following at a command prompt (assuming the drive letter of the DVD drive is D:)

1D:\support\adprep\adprep32.exe /forestprep

Once that process is complete, try the “Deploy with Group Policy” window again and it should work.
